As 2018 quickly approaches you’re likely evaluating your marketing plan for the next year. The essential campaigns like paid ads on Google or referrals are of course important, but are you stepping outside of the box at all next year? Here are some creative online marketing options your firm might want to utilize in 2018 and beyond.

Joining a Popular Hashtag

If your firm has a Twitter account (or even Facebook), you may want to join in the discussion with hashtags. While the world’s top hashtags aren’t usually about legal matters, there are a lot of popular options your firm can use:

  • #SocialSecurity (a few posts per minute)
  • #PersonalInjury (five per hour)
  • #LegalHelp (two per hour)

When “joining” a discussion around a hashtag, be sure to remember to use your selected hashtag on every post. One or two tweets won’t help you find the right audience. Also be willing to follow back accounts that retweet, like, and follow your posts—users like to see the accounts they follow interact with them.

Create an Infographic

Infographics are images that present data on a subject with visuals that are easy to read and entertaining. Potential infographic ideas for your firm could include:

  • Social Security disability approval rates by condition
  • Most common car crash injuries
  • Most common months to get injured at work

Infographics are great for a few reasons—when done correctly, it’s highly shareable. Potential claimants could share your image all over social media, driving traffic to your page and subsequently your firm’s website. Inforgraphics can also be linked to online, which might give your firm a boost in organic rankings. (LINK)

Host a Webinar

Webinars are great ways to illuminate your expertise in an area of law. A webinar is an online presentation where you discuss a topic with a group of listeners who have logged into whatever platform you’re using and listen along. Webinars can be as long or as short as you’d like—most run anywhere from 20 minutes to up to a couple of hours.

If you’re interested in hosting a webinar, consider connecting with an organization that serves a similar audience as your firm, and has hosted webinars in the past. This will make it easy to gather a large audience for your presentation. For example, a Social Security disability attorney could host a webinar with a nonprofit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities on how Down syndrome can qualify for disability benefits.

After working with an organization for a webinar, you’ll also have a great connection for any referral clients!

A Fourth Digital Marketing Platform…

While the aforementioned marketing strategies are unique, they also take a fair amount of time and effort to become profitable. Another new online marketing option your firm may have not considered is legal lead generation. When you work with a lead provider you pay for contact information from claimants, not the maintenance of your own in-house campaigns.
